SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS


Authors are invited to submit abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the programme as oral or poster presentations.

Abstracts should focus on one of the 9 conference topics. Texts, containing 400 words maximum, must be written in English, using simple and clear sentences. The abstract should consist of four paragraphs labelled: Objective. Methods, Results, Conclusions. Abstracts should not contain figures (pictures, tables, charts etc.). Abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts in the original form as submitted by authors. The Abstract Book will be distributed together with the Final Programme to all Conference participants upon on-site registration in Ljubljana.


Authors must register and submit the abstracts electronically via the online Speakers Registration and Abstract Submission Form, where detailed submission guidelines can be found. An acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your e-mail address after the completed submission, together with your login name and password, which will enable to edit or change your abstract, by the submission deadline. If you do not receive the confirmation, your submission was incomplete and needs to be re-submitted.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS

All abstracts will be reviewed. Notification of acceptance of an abstract will be e-mailed to the presenting author by March 17, 2008.

 

Abstracts will be accepted for publication in the Final Programme and Book of Abstracts only from presenting authors who have registered and paid the Registration Fee by April 15, 2008, at the latest.


GUIDELINES FOR ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTERS


ORAL PRESENTATIONS


Oral presentations are limited to 7 minutes plus 3 minutes for discussion.


Each oral presenter will be allowed 10-min talk. Plan your talk carefully. Session chairpersons will be instructed to maintain a very strict time schedule: Discussion time will be allotted following each presentation (maximum of 3 minutes).

Projection facilities

Technical equipment available for oral presentations:
  • DATA projectors for computer presentation (native resolution: 1024 x 768 pixels
  • Computers with Microsoft Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office 2003 will be available for presentations
  • Slide and overhead projector will not be available.

Speaker Centre/Preview Room

The technical organiser will give you additional instructions concerning your session and the presentation of your paper in the Speaker Centre/Preview Room, located in the Foyer of Grand hotel Union. Please make sure that your computer presentation is fully operational before your talk. Speakers are kindly asked to deliver their presentation on a CD or DVD media or USB Memory stick to the Speaker Centre. Only presentations in Power Point programme will be accepted. Version MS Power Point 2003 is recommended. If your presentation contains a video or an audio file, please bring to the Conference all files (audio, video, codec).

We advise you to deliver your presentation and check computer presentation preferably in the morning of the day your talk is scheduled, but not later than 2 hours in advance before the beginning of the session or the previous afternoon for the morning sessions.


POSTER PRESENTATIONS


Posters (light cardboard or paper) must be brought to the Conference by the presenting author and should not be mailed in advance. Poster boards have an available space of 0,95 m width and 2,00 m height. Double sided tape should be used.


At the top of poster, please provide the title of the paper, names of the authors and their affiliations, all in bold lettering of about 2.5 to 3 cm size. Artwork and lettering should be large and clear enough so that the poster is readable from a distance of 1.5 m.
